has this noise band movement been going on for a long time. are there like a lot of videos of Indonesian band that we can watch on you tube?
The Indonesian noise scene has been around for a long time and keeps on growing. There are a lot of Indonesian experimental artists that you can find on You Tube. If you search for Jeritan, Jogja Noise Bombing, Theo Nugraha, Malang Sub Noise, Division Fracture among others you will get a nice selection to view.
what is your next project on your label?
At the moment I am working on compiling HNM Records 100th release compilation called HNM 100. This will feature lots of noise / experimental, even noisecore artists and is going to be a great album! Also there will be releases from my own Harsh Noise Movement project, which is the main focus of the label anyway.

I didn't know you were a artist too. I thought you were the one who had the record label. so your part of Harsh Noise Movement project? is it just you or are there other members.
Harsh noise Movement is just me, and also the label is just me too. I am a British noise artist.
what name do you go by. I mean what name do you use on your projects.
My main name is Harsh Noise Movement. I also do noise under the name Hood Cannibal which is also on HNM Records
with your projects what do you use to make your songs. do you use any musical instruments?
I use pedals, amps, guitar, laptops and other things to make my noise.
the sounds that you use are quite disturbing. Sometimes there real violent and angry sounds. what makes you make songs like that. what attracts you to those sounds, those feelings?
I think that a lot of Indonesian noise artists are influenced by the Indonesian traditional music. I hear a lot of tradition influences of the Indonesia album.
I like to make the most harsh, extreme sounds that I can. I have always been fascinated by the morbid and macabre. It is not all morbid though, there is also a lot of humor within the albums I bring out. I dont have any morbid feelings inside, I like the noise I make to be unsettling and have an impact on the listener.
do you perform a lot? normally where do you perform, have you performed like in china or japan?
I do not have the desire at the moment to perform in any place apart from within my own walls at the present time.
is there a big grindcore movement in Indonesia. all this music that your talking about where is it going on, in what city? or is it coming from every part of Indonesia.
The music is coming from all over Indonesia. There are all different types of extreme music being made by very talented artists.
I really like the cover art work on you CD’s. who does the art work.
I do the artwork on most HNM Records releases. Sometimes an artist will want to do artwork, so I encourage that. My wife also does a few of the cover artworks. I do the majority of it though.

were you ever influenced by punk rock? or post punk?
I am very influence by punk and hardcore. I grew up listening to punk in 1970's Britain, so it has influenced my attitude to making music a lot.
is the a hip hop moment there in Indonesia. I haven't herd too much hip hop artist from there.
